Machiavelli's morality, my guilt...

"Yes We Can!"

...if there is one thing that is for sure, it is that Obama sells!! but i guess that he is not the only one...

So this is what the buyers say and ask us to believe in, "Modi for PM?"

"No We Can't!"

***

...but i guess that there are times when the lesser of the evils has to be chosen. i may not be a staunch fan of Modi and i do completely abhor his route to power in attaining the Gujarat Chief Minister-ship; but i also do realize the immense money and economic stability that he has brought to the State. he may have risen like an apocalyptic angel straight from hell, dusting off the ashes of the thousands slaughtered in the Gujarat riots in displaying his shining wings, but so did Mao, Stalin and the entire 'New World'...

...a Machiavellian choice i have made... for me Modi is, and will remain, a supported political figure in Gujarat in the absence of any other realistic alternative. but my conscience judges against elevating him to the same at a national level. we do not need a butcher's efficiency in running our country. we need a leader's vision.

...and if no one can provide that for us, we will each do so ourselves. and that is something that i am willing to believe in, cause...

"Yes We Can!"

Obama can definitely sell and he appears to have lifted the spirits of his nation.

We could do with some spirit lifting here too - our economy is busted.

I hope you find your leader and he/she delivers :D

Miladysa: i long gave up on trying to find a leader...decided to chart my own course, i did; in all the things, situations and places that i could practically afford to do so. and so far i haven't been disappointed in myself!

despite the fact that i believe that we all need to take up the mantle ourselves, i do agree that we do need that 'someone'!

Keshi: well it sure is Obama-mania in full swing at present!

...it is a sad thing that we have to look beyond our own horizons for a leader worth being led by...

I don't know about Sri Lanka, but here in India i have seen more than enough to be utterly put off and disgusted by the system and the systematic manipulators who we call politicians. and that is the sole reason why i, albeit grudgingly, make my peace with a CM like Modi. i would rather have an efficient butcher handling things than a corrupt, unscrupulous and swindling pig (a.k.a most of the other politicians on the scene as of now) who have self nominated himself/herself as the people's leader.

i am indeed saddened!

well bro, of all the corrupt societies and corrupt days we live in, we are smart enough not to run away from the problem. that itself shows we are aware of the problem and that we choose to do the right thing for the generations to come. we are not cowards to shout from afar. and taking a line from Milady...we need somebody who can sell!
